I natt hyllades TV-industrin vid den 76:e ”Primetime Emmy Awards” i LA; och nyinspelningen av en TV-serie, som utspelar sig i 1600-talets Japan, slog alla tiders Emmy-rekord.
Shōgun vann totalt 18 Emmy-priser, vilket gör den till den serie som har vunnit flest priser vid en och samma Emmy-ceremoni.
Shōgun vann bland annat Emmy-pris för bästa regi (Frederick E.O. Toye), bästa dramaserie och skådespelarpriser för både Anna Sawai och Hiroyuki Sanad.
På 1980-talet kunde vi se den smått legendariske ”hunken” Richard Chamberlain (Törnfåglarna) som den ärkebrittiske sjömannen John Blackthorne, i den mytomspunna TV-serien Shogun.
En mycket framgångsrik dramaserie som utspelar sig i det feodala Japan, med politiska maktkamper, ränksmiderier och mellanmänskligt drama; toppad av en underbar produktion och fantastiska skådespelare.
Miniserien bygger på en roman av James Clavell – i februari fick vi en utmärkt nyinspelning på Disney+.
Den distinkta dramaserien The Bear, som kretsar kring den komplexa gourmetkocken Carmys (Jeremy Allen White) kök, fick också en generös mängd Emmy-priser.
11 utmärkelser gick till denna fängslande serie.
Den legendariska skådespelerskan Jodie Foster vann sin första Emmy för sin roll i den fjärde säsongen av True Detective, Night Country.
Regissören Steven Zaillian fick den ära han förtjänade för priset för den underbara thrillerserien Ripley. Missa inte den (på Netflix).
Samtidigt tog Baby Reindeer hem 6 Emmy-priser.
